Weather is the main driving force to seasonal change & fresh produce can unfortunately become quickly affected.

We understand that sometimes there's not much scope to change menus, but when Mother Nature strikes, sometimes items can become hugely affected quickly.

Keep your eyes peeled on this page to see what should be avoided.

Availability is extremely short due to excessive wind and rain in both Spain and Morocco, the plants and the fruit have been affected and the quality coming though is not brilliant. Spain is down on production year on year and shipping a lot less to the UK, we are not expecting the Dutch season at the moment and British is not expected until mid-June.

Once again the weather issues in Spain and Portugal have damaged crop and it is extremely short. The back up option at this time of year is normally Kenya by air which is currently not an option due the limited fights out of that region, as affected by the Iran/America conflict. There is some Egyptian coming through by boat, but it is irregular and being highly graded as the quality is not brilliant. We would recommend using purple sprouting broccoli as a replacement.

Due to a really poor Spanish season with weather related issues being front and centre. We are seeing lots of quality issues and growers finishing early due to losses. Morocco produce is seen to be the same, with limited yields and quality issues due to under performing and damaged plants. The Dutch season is not going to be early this year, and whilst there are some tomatoes coming through, the growers are reluctant to put extra heating into the glass houses due to fuel price increases. Market prices are extreme on all tomato lines, but we are working to minimise customer impact.
